Portuguese - Day 4 (7-Oct-2018): "Casa Fernanda" to Ponte de Lima (14.3km)

Day 4 (7-Oct-18):  “Casa Fernanda” to Ponte de Lima (14.3km):  We had breakfast at Casa Fernanda and left by 8:30am.  Walking conditions were excellent, cool enough to wear my lightweight down jacket for a bit, and on good surfaces.  We did cross over a ridgeline but not too much of a climb. Stopped once after ~8km for coffee and shared a pastry, chocolate croissant - our favorite, and decided to reserve a room in Ponte de Lima. “Terraco de Vila” in Ponte de Lima where we stayed in 2016 had a room available on booking.com.  Most of today’s walking was on one lane tracks through rural areas and on cobble or dirt surfaces - nice for walking and the fact that it was going to be a short day added to our enjoyment. We arrived ~1pm and had a nice lunch before checking in to our place. After settling in we visited the “Vinho Verde” wine museum and for a tour and to taste.   Our recollection from 2016 is that we got several tastes but nowadays only got a single little taste - ah well. We wandered town, had gellato and “pingo” (espresso with dash of steamed milk), walked across the iconic “Ponte de Lima” - a Roman built bridge that was expanded in medieval times to accommodate the changing river path. Now we are back in the main town and enjoying more vinho verde while working on our blogs.  Today is sunday and a busy day here with lots of tourists.

Too bad we cannot carry any away since quality is amazing and price is very low!
