Breakfast at our hotel wasn't until 8am so we had a leisurely morning and headed out to windy and chilly weather. Early on we climbed a long steep hill (12% grade for 1km) so got warmed up. Then over plateau and back down to fairly flat terrain and no villages for 11km. Had lunch and then continued on to the next village, where we stopped for the day, Boadilla del Camino and are staying same place as last year - En El Camino, an albergue with nice setting. There's a courtyard with murals, sculptures, etc. Now relaxing after our shower with snacks and bottle of red wine. Pilgrims who arrived much after us had gotten caught in a pretty big rainstorm and were drenched - so we were glad we had not continued walking. Had our laundry done for us, a real treat to have clean and freshly dried clothes! Dinner in albergue with other pilgrims was nice.
Note that the trail goes UP along the far ridge-line. Really gets the blood pumping first thing in the morning.
After crossing the ridge there was a steep descent and then across the mesata.
Albergue En El Camino has a neat courtyard with sculptures, murals, etc.
Location:Boadilla del Camino, Spain
